I love that Cory immediately shut down her wish to not be questioned. He's exactly right: that's how she got into her hoard. She was not prepared for him to disagree with her.

Her face when she was offered a room says it all... she really needed that to be around loved ones.... LOVE THIS ❤️

Really heartwarming to see how supportive and loving her family was. She was also very gracious and respectful to the team and her family members. I wish her the best.

Collecting is one thing. Throwing your trash on the floor is another level

out of all of the hoarding videos i have watched, she is one of the best people to accept the fact that she has brought to her home, get rid of her stuff, being nice to the cast members, and staying calm. i'm so proud! :)

There is a VAST difference between collecting things that are of use and value but hoarding dirt garbage and filth is something else entirely.

Those poor dogs should not have to live with her in that trash

In any of these cases an update in a year or so from now is crucial so that we can learn if the therapy and care from her family actually sunk in and worked.

Goodness this one made me cry! It was such a mixture of disgusting and gross to beautiful love. It was incredibly evident that this lady was suffering from isolation and loneliness, amongst other issues and was very depressed. Her family clearly loved and worried for her and then were able to help her with a home and have family around her again. She will have a life filled with family love and that's so beautiful. I'm disabled with no living family, it's brutally isolating 😔 I hope they all have a wonderful new life together ❤️

This is the kind of thing that happened to me, several times, dealing with the hording isn't going to help, she needs mental health teams and social services to help her, I'm now free of this kind of thing but only because of the mental health teams and social services helping me through it properly, 4 previous deep cleans proves my point 🤷

This is how it should be handled every time: Unwavering love and understanding that a person don't end up a hoarder out of choice and that it's a symptom of prolonged emotional distress, mental disorders and/or trauma. Many of the hoarders we see on this show are difficult to deal with because they feel unsafe and lash out first. I'm incredibly happy to see that Nancy had people who genuinely care about her as a person first and foremost, setting aside their own gripes and that Nancy realized she didn't have to be afraid to trust. Keep up the good fight, I'm rooting for you. ♥

I know she’s depressed for some reason and stopped caring about herself and her environment, but those poor dogs - having to live in filth. The stench must have been horrendous and dogs have heightened ability to smell.

How you can let them still have animals is beyond me.

She’s actually the first one I’ve seen that actually wants to change! Yes it’s hard to re train our mind but she seems to try. Her family is very understanding as well.

Clearly the hoarding is just a symptom of very deep seated fear - could be fear of forgetting, fear of moving on, fear of loss, fear of rejection, fear of judgment, etc. Hoarding seems to be much more than just simple laziness and compulsivity - has to be. Laziness and compulsivity could be contributing factors, but this level of hoarding indicates utter paralysis caused by fear, and an acceptance of this fear as a way of life.
