I honestly would not enter that home without a full body suit with a oxygen tank for air. I kind of figured it would be best demo the house. I have no doubt that home killed the mother.

None of them wants to take her on as a permanent resident and I don't blame them one bit.
Nola didn't look happy that she has to take her in temporarily.
Shanna needs to be in a group home.

I remember this episode when it was originally aired.
This was one of the most severe case of hoarding that stemmed
from mental

Out of all the episodes of _Hoarders_ that I've watched, Shanna (season 6, episode 4; this woman) and Sandra (season 9, episode 6) are the most memorable. I vividly remember Shanna's episode because at one point during the episode, she is shown emptying her urination bucket and then _using that same bucket_ to collect water to boil for food. Once you reach the point where you're using the same bucket for urination and cooking, that's beyond hoarding, that's a sign of cognitive problems.

Her immune system will be studied and marveled at by scientists in a thousand years.

I hope she’s doing well mentally and that shes taking care of her self and her new space. Shoutout to her family for being so supportive.

Having animals in such a hellscape is criminal

Of all the people on this show, Shanna is the one that I can say really needs to be committed.

I remember this episode vividly. The producers really just glanced over the fact that Shanna peed and 💩 in buckets 🪣 and then threw it in the yard. That’s why her neighbors called the city. 🤢😷

I will say this again: It appears to me that a lot of these hoarders have very unhealthy attachments to their parents.

I do commend Shanna for not being difficult. She is not all there, but she did not put up a fight with anyone. She did vent frustration at one point, but it didn't cause an ultimate breakdown of a family like many episodes show. And the disagreements really didn't hurt the siblings, but brought them together in order to fix the home and find help for Shanna.

I hope Shanna and her family are doing well. I applaud them for ultimately getting together in the end.

I found the house for sale online and the workers did an amazing job in rebuilding everything. It's like nothing ever happened there.

"So you're gonna eat moldy bread?"
"No! I'm going to pick the mold off!"
I understand she doesn't want to be wasteful, but come on girl..

Glad she has family and got the right people to try to help.

I am amazed that she was still alive in that situation! She was gonna eat that bread covered with molds. Unbelievable.

@8:46 the sisters look of resentment. I've felt that feeling.
Brother said kind words BUT HE DOESN'T HAVE TO LIVE WITH HER!

So wonderful that she has such supportive siblings. Also, it is a good move to have their sister possibly go into a transitional home. That will hopefully ensure she is in a controlled environment, with supportive people and a wellness plan, but still allow her some level of independence.

This poor woman is so sick. They needed to bulldoze the house and contents. I sure do feel sorry for the cleaners and all involved!
