Easiest Way To Clean Brake Dust Off Of Your Wheels And Tires

I stumbled across this one day when I ran out of wheel cleaner. All I had around was some Simple Green, so I gave it a shot. Turned out it worked better than anything I had ever used before! I started using it for just about any dirty, oily, greasy, grimy mess and it works great. I even spray it on my jeans before throwing them in the wash and it takes out oil, dirt, and other stains better than Oxy Clean!

Over the years I have tried just about every different specialty product designed for cleaning wheels. After watching this video I went to Home Depot and picked up a container of Simply Green. It worked AMAZINGLY WELL! I feel like a complete idiot for not knowing this prior to watching your video. But this works beyond my wildest imagination! Thanks for posting this!

Has a detailer come today. Told us it was baked on and needed mutatic acid to clean. Jerk off was so wrong. SOS pads worked awesome didn’t even have to scrub wiped right away.

I'll try that sometime. Just used Dawn Ultra Platinium Powerwash and it works very well also.

SG is good stuff. They also have a SG product specifically for aluminum that is used in the aviation world. Regular SG and airplanes aluminum parts don’t play well together so they say.

Brake dust baked into my powder coated rims due to dragging caliper. This technique only removed a small proportion of the brake dust despite multiple applications, soaking and heavy scrubbing multiple times with both a stiff brush and scrubbing pad.

Would this work on factory hub caps in a GM. I think it's aluminum.
