Remember black paint doesn't increase whp, if you want +5 whp per corner you will need to use red paint.

Great vid, Chris. If you paint your calipers a bright color like blue or red, it's best to paint them silver first. Makes the color pop and uses much less coats of actual color.

That high speed sanding was so satisfying...

A drill with a wire wheel works good for sanding them off quickly

When I painted my calipers. I used a heat gun to bake the paint on. Plus it dries really quick. 3 coats primer. 3 coats of red. 30 minutes each one. Mitsubishi 3000gto twin turbo. Looks wicked.

Great tips, thanks Chris. I recommend acetone as a wash myself. And as these calipers get real hot, , you want to use always, a high heat paint as Chris does here. And if you want it to shine and last longer...Use a high heat Clear Coat. Or else it will not hold up over time. Unless you believe that a long time is one year. Rattle can paints = Some are okay. Some are not so okay to use in this application. Great video instructional. I paint my chevy car calipers Fire Engine RED, and put logos on them, then clear coat over the logo. Looks PRO>

There are only two YouTube channels I view regularly. Yours and Goonzquad. You are the best young man. Patient, smart and a gift for making things and KEEPING things simple. I've saved about ten of your videos for future use and can hardly wait to get started. I watched your video and downloaded your checklist on inspecting/buying a used car. Following your script, I found and bought a 2004 Volvo S40 t5 and can't wait to begin personalization of my car and will calling upon your skills. Thank you so much for a great channel. Enjoy your day.
