Bye Bye Baked-on Brake Dust 👋

A seized brake caliper meant this 20 year old wheel had been battered with heavy brake dust and iron fallout and while there was still some super-stubborn stuff left behind, Turtle Wax’s All Wheel Cleaner + Iron Remover did a great job at shifting the vast majority of it!

Products used:

Turtle Wax All Wheel Cleaner + Iron Remover:

Kranzle K7 Pressure Washer:

Yes I know there was still some stubborn crap left in the corners and yes I know you should at least rinse the wheel first to save wasting product but the caliper had seized so the battered old wheels were beyond a straight forward clean and it’s just a quick YT short not intended to be taken too seriously so try not to get your knickers in a twist!

with liberal application like this, the bottle would last me 1 car

That feeling after you clean your wheels and found out you need to repaint it 😂

It's funny how so many people are able to find fault, as it were, yet can't read a video description that would actually make the shown results rather impressive.

It's quite amazing what Hyper Solutions has been doing for car detailing. It's satifying to see all that brake dust come off those wheels👌

Man, looking at that makes me glad that on my personal ride I work the wheels every wash and coat them regularly...ooof

You inspired me to search for a car detailing job myself and i can definitely say brake dust this bad is annoying to get off at home but the brake dust eating acid we have at work gets the job done so easily with a sponge and brushes, helpful on work vans but their wheels are often so far gone with blistering and surface rust. No fancy colours, just green to brown :p

That's pretty impressive. Currently there is caked on brake dust on my front two wheels. Im going to try the degreaser with card scrape method

I love how them youtube detailers use half of the bottle for cleaning one wheel🙈🤣

i like using baby wipes on my wheels. They are dirt cheap and brake dust just comes of with a light wipe, even if it has been on the wheels for years. Just makes you wonder what is in these wipes and how healthy they are for the baby's bottom...

..All I use is a small bucket, half-filled with soapy water (powder-soap used for washing clothes), and my trusty old ordinary SPUNGE. Brings back the shine on all four rims. And if there's cv-joint grease on the rim, I just spray a bit of degreaser beforehand, and wash off after 30 seconds of letting it sit. Gets the job done everytime 😉👌

when I had a major brakedust issue, 3-4 years of neglect, I used 30% HCl acid, but I wish I haven't, it was very effective at cleaning but even though I was working in open field and standing as far as possible it created clouds of toxic visible fumes that irritate your eyes and arrest your breathing to the point of choking. Never ever doing that again. I thought consumer grade products were just too weak for something as dirty as that but this one seems to do 90% as good which is good enough, wish I used this instead

Rest assured everyone, The Car Cleaning Guru did not leave the bits of dust in the corners. Everything he details is to a level the average person is not used to seeing.

I bought used wheels that had plenty of brake dust. This bottle is worth every penny of it!!!!

Hi CCG, I have a serious question about de-ionising water - do you know of or can you recommend a de-ionising setup? Some US detailers use setups designed for RVs (motorhomes). Why I ask - where I live the water is extremely hard (60°FH) and contains CaCO3 BUT ALSO Gypsum (Calcium Sulphate CaSO4) that is NOT removed by my water softener. The aim of the de-ioniser would be to remove the Gypsum from the water so I can rinse and not get white marks all over the car.
I have a softened water connection in the garage (12°FH) which should be good for washing but I still need to de-ionise it for rinsing the car. Any ideas? All the best, Rob in Switzerland
