We met in a long-distance relationship, now we're married 🇺🇸💍🇵🇭

The time has finally come after just under 2 years. What started out as chatting online on a dating website, to video calls twice a day, to 3 trips to the Philippines, to proposing and applying for a K1 fiancé Visa, to Joy arriving in America. Now we are married!

And yes, she wore a 4 dollar wedding dress! She also had a dress that was 1 dollar but we chose to go with the more expensive one. haha! Let's not even talk about the rings. ;)

Our plan is to have a big wedding in the Philippines for her family one day. But for now we are just enjoying being together having this simple wedding with family.

Thank you for all your support over the last year here on Youtube. Even thank you to the haters.

My wife of 28 years who was living and working as a doctor in Kansas and I in Washington, DC when I met her decided to get married there by a judge in the living room of the farm house the mutual friends — Fil-Am couple — who introduced us then went to her home on Mactan Island in Cebu for the family wedding with the couple that introduced going there to join us there too.

Years later at our church in Virginia we learn on the pastors had grown up on Clark AFB in the Philippines and his wife was from the same small town in KS where our friend lived. Then minds were blown when it was discovered her parents sold our friend the farm and the pastor’s wife grew up in the farm house were we were married!

After you get married and recieve your certificate, go back to SS office and change her name. Get her a state ID before her visa expires. Get her on your work insurance quickly too

I didn't know she could get an SSN since she was not a citizen yet. I'm glad you posted this because I would have done the same thing with my girl. I'm taking a month in July next year to marry my girl in her country, but it will only be the ceremony. We will be getting married here in the States. I live an hour from Boise, ID. Maybe once she is here, we can meet up. I think it would be great for her to have a friend from her own country.
