My first course in LA was more or less a course in analytical geometry in R2 and R3. It it dealt with lines, planes and spheres, distaces and intersections, vectors and coordinates wrt a basis (here we only used the standard ON basis), how to describe stuff like tetrahedrons with vectors and so forth. Only in the final week or so we got introduced to matrices.

The second course in LA was more in line with the book ’LA Done right’. We did eigenvalues, quadratic forms, system of D.E’s, change of basis, spectral Theorem, determinants of size nxn and linear transformations. It was a proof based course with a heavy focus on (real) vector spaces.

I like that the university designed it this way due to how connected LA is with geometry, and by starting with just lines in R2 and R3 makes it easier to conceptually understand the topics later on

Finally I was looking for a book like this, I've been struggling with books like linear algebra by stanley grossman which I found extremely tedious to read, generally speaking many linear algebra books are at least 800 pages long, it's almost like the authors don't know how to condense all content.
Great video, as always.

I am fan of books by Stroud & Booth. I have both “Engineering Mathematics “ and “Further Engineering Mathematics”, which include most of the content if this book.

The “programmed instructions approach” is really useful to supplement the official college textbooks and for those, out of college, want to plunge into the subject in a gentle way, but still with academic rigour.

This channel is a bout a very important subject because it is always helpful to exchange experience and information on textbooks especially math.
By the way, what book would recommend for leaning tenors from beginner to advanced Level?
