In this video I talk about a Linear Algebra book with a very interesting title. I have known about this book for years but I never actually sat down and carefully looked at it until now.

This book is awesome! The book is called Linear Algebra Done Right and is written by Sheldon Axler.

Please leave any comments or questions in the comment section below. Thank you:)

Could you review a linear systems book? I have found most of my linear systems books under the title "Control Systems" in engineering books. I have not found an insightful linear systems math book yet. Thanks for your time.

Why the heck won't some authors publish the answers to the exercises?

I didn't pay attention to the preface when I first tried to read the book. I was a beginner and I mistakenly thought it was a beginner's book. Lesson learned: always read the preface.

Please forgive me for addressing this video at this time. However, this is the first time that I've viewed it on YouTube.

I am self-studying mathematics. I review higher level topics as I review precalculus, at this time. What peaked my curiosity about your review of this book is that you mentioned that this book is structured around proof oriented linear algebra. And, you recommend that, if possible, that anyone using this book have a background in proof based mathematics.

I was not aware that proof structured courses were offered in the undergraduate level until you study real analysis. How do I develop a focus on proof-based mathematics before studying real analysis?

This was the textbook I studied from in grad school. An all round awesome book. The style is in the realm of functional analysis.

Thank you for the review. I was wondering about this book. He has a YouTube playlist that accompanies the book as well.

How do you think Axler's book compares to Hoffman and Kunze's?

If this is linear algebra done right, I'd hate to see it done wrong. Very difficult textbook to follow unless you already know the subject. He does not explain much at all. And yes, there are no answers.

I took linear algebra the same time I took calc 3. That was the best decision I ever made since the two courses complement each other. Thanks for another great upload.

I'm done with University math when I finish Differential Equations this semester, so I'm sure I'll get use out of this for self study

Do you have any recommendations for a student about to take ODE and Discrete structures? Really want to stay on top of things just having trouble on where to start before the semester begins.

Can anybody recommend an alternative source for exercises? I love this book, but I'd really like to have a source of less intense, but still abstract and proof-based, problems.

I think there is "Linear Algebra Done Right Solutions Manual"

This was free a few months ago as an ebook, glad I waited to pick this up. The current book I'm using right now, Linear Algebra by Hwei P. Hsu, is obscure, but it seems pretty decent so far.

Could you review Measure, Integration, & Real Analysis by the same author? I think it is a great book but I cannot compare since it is my first book on these topics. I just read chapters 1 and 2.

Thanks for your videos, you always inspire me to learn more Math!

Getting solved college exercises from past semesters/years;
A standard textbook (Hill, Grossman, Strang, etc.);
Schaum's Outlines (optional).
