Thank you for reviewing this book in depth and being honest with it. You always give great reviews that are truthful and to the point.

My take about Friedberg’s book is that it’s sort of like the ‘too theoretical for lower division linear algebra but just right for a first pure math class after an intro to proofs’ type of book. My first pure math class [which I just got through] was Abstract Algebra 1, so group theory with introduction to Rings and Fields. I feel like it would have been better to do a second course in Linear Algebra with a book like Friedberg’s first because I barely passed Abstract Algebra 1 with a C even with endlessly grinding through problem sets, reading through my book many times, and everything else. Nonetheless I still feel like I learned a lot.

I am just an average math student who works as hard as I can to learn as much as I can. And that’s okay.

0:15 Thanks for getting me to check again. I had looked a while back and only found the $160 hardcover edition.
3:20 There's a different version called "Elementary Linear Algebra: A Matrix Approach" by the same authors if one wants the lower-division treatment usually offered parallel to or immediately after Calc I-III.

16:24 I like when books have good references that lead me to other good information. Mathematics is a deep subject.

Glad to hear you feel your channel is doing well. I appreciated you giving me a shout-out. I haven't grown as fast as you; however, I feel the last 3 years have been good on my channel. I hope you continue to enjoy your channel.

Thanks for another great review! I used this text in my second course in Linear Algebra. It was quite difficult reading this book for the first time without a strong foundation in intro proof writing but reading it again after taking a Discrete Math course has helped me a lot. Looking forward to the future of your channel!

15:47 I like pictures and graphs in my math books. It is a useful tool to learning an idea.

Thanks for the comprehensive review. Perhaps you could do a video where you recommend one book each at the lower division, upper division, and entry-level graduate level, for someone who is getting into economics or finance. They needn't be "applied linear algebra" texts per se, but the relevant applications to prepare the student for would include linear regression for econometrics, and differential equations for dynamic modeling.

I recommend Rajnikant Sinha’s ‘Galois theory and advanced linear algebra” book..u can read it as a second course… maybe its unique book which explore Jordan Canonocal form and advanced topics so clearly
