I’m going to give you 7 simple and easy ways to outsmart a narcissist. Did you know that Narcissism is a personality trait that every person possesses to some degree. Like any characteristic, it exists on a spectrum and we all fall somewhere along the narcissism continuum. On the surface though, narcissists are like regular people, but something changes when assertiveness steps into arrogance, self love turns into self centred and persuasion into manipulation.

Starving them of your personal history: That's how I'm coping with my narcisistic brother. He lies about everything and spreads lies about me to my parents (who thankfully don't believe him) and his wife (who believes him, so now she has cut me off). I don't tell him where I live as he'd turn up on my door step to say 'hi', but really he's after something or hiding from someone he's p*ssed off. That's happened in the past!😅

Also, never let them control the lines of communication between you and anyone else, that's how they pit people against each other, smear you, etc. But really, as good as all these pieces of advice are, they're time-consuming and tiring. I've found that the best way to deal with a narcissist is to just completely cut them out of your life. Of course, if you happen to share custody of minor children with a narcissist, then you're likely stuck, and this advice would be extremely helpful. Also try going "grey rock". In other words, make yourself as uninteresting as the most boring pebble on the beach, and they will tire of attempting to mess with you.

Sue, this video is great. I do have a question though. If you do all of these things, is it possible for the narcissist to act worse toward you, almost try to destroy you? I am finding this with my sister in law at the moment.
