As a mechanic. When you jump start a car, the cars alternator WILL NOT CHARGE A DEAD BATTERY. The reason for this is because a dead battery does not send voltage to the sensors in the alternator regulator. A dead battery needs to be charged properly before you condemn it. However if you are planning a long trip or are regularly in the middle of nowhere, just go ahead and replace it for piece of mind.

What if your radio works lights work wipers work but it won’t turn over it try’s to start won’t could that still be battery it didn’t get used for a couple of weeks…..Upate was the alternator

Today someone said their car wasn't starting I went over all it was the battery positive wire was loose and some of the fuses needed to be pushed down into the fuse box

I had the same issue with a scion Xb it doesn’t start I heard clicking after it was weak and we recharge it and it works now

Why not just test the battery with a voltmeter? If it reads below 12V its bad. 12V-12.4V (Part charged25%-60%) 12.4V-12.9V (60%- 100% charged)

Yes, first my key wouldn’t turn it off because of the stuck position then I got a new battery because that one was old it started and it’s now doing the same thing not starting and getting stuck in the ignition position

Im in the same situation, bought a noco jumper to start it everytime but battery won't hold charge after driving. Will take it autoshop to full charge for 48hrs hope 🙏it will fix it.

Hello I have Porsche Cayenne GTS driver window not working, roof not closing completely and LCD stopped working i just changed the battery 3 months ago and I also have issue with Crankshaft sensor as per the reading and the engine stalls a bit... Confused why all these problems together 🥴 Any suggestions! I ordered a new crankshaft for a fix.

I hit a pothole and my screen cut off and it flat my tire while the car was still on I put it in park and checked my tire got back in and it wouldn’t shift back into drive I cut it off to crank it again and nothing will cut on did the pothole knock my battery out of place or is it something more serious?
