Can a knock sensor cause my car not to start? We get this comment very often and people want to know if a knock sensor can cause your car not to start that way they can know if they need to look what is causing their car not to start. The knock sensor is very important for the normal operation of the engine and in this video we will explain how a bad knock sensor can affect your car and if a bad knock sensor can cause your car not to start. Usually knock sensors are located somewhere in the upper section of the engine block or lower section of cylinder head and it will take often a few hours to get to the knock sensor because many components will need to be removed in the way. Hopefully this video will explain if a bad knock sensor can make your car not to start.

My son and his friend pulled the trans in his 13 kia soul. Well, i got it mostly back together. Now it won't start if i hook up the knock sensor. And rpm is not reading. i haven't found anymore missed connections.

yeah so on my audi i have a p0332 code bad knock sensor signal, but the car flat out wont start. Just cranks and cranks. leads me to believe it is actually a bad cranks sensor not allowing the ignition to spark. going to change it out and see.
