Just had to deal with this at work. Great customer died in one of our rooms, a horrible smell was everywhere, we thought trash can, dead animal in the drainage pipe, but once his day to checkout came we found him. He was so badly decomposed he was burnt black, he was an extremely white guy. Both his hands were raised towards the ceiling and he was half on the bed and half off in the laying down position. His mouth was wide open. It was extremely sad. I and two others were deemed responsible to clean the room and make it smell better. It took about a week to make it somewhat better. I didn’t know him personally but he made a point to know my name and was always decent even though he had severe ptsd and had a stroke. He became very frustrated very easily due to not remembering words. Many people would get upset with him due to his loud talking and odd behavior but I never got upset with him. And I have a horrible temper and get in on people who don’t treat others well but something made me always remain calm with him. Considering I deal with ptsd too I suppose I understand his frustration on some level.

This happened to my classmate, he was on a holiday, after coming back they saw blood and disgusting brown things or whatever, then well they found out that their neighbour upstairs died and no one knew because he was living alone

I knew someone through a friend who dealt with body removal. A dude died in his apartment and was there for two weeks before fluids starting seeping down to the floor below. It's sad but also so gross and morbid. Ugh.

Worst thing i ever saw in my day to day, as a kid i found my elderly neighbour dead in her house. She'd died in the summer, a rather damp summer. Her body was already decomposing when found and her cats had been munching on her body. She must have been dead at least a week before getting found... i was 9. As an adult, im a carer and one of my residents had massice skin grafts to reconstruct her right side of her head due to metastatic cancer alongside a tracheostomy. The grafts failed and the skin liquified slowly, she had a skull plate which was rotting as well... somehow she survived over a month of this and the aroma will never leave my memory...
