Mr Miyagi had no idea of who Kim Sun Yung was, but Sato did.

Yeah Miyagi had no history with this guy. But a fight between Sato and Yung would be interesting. Kind of the dark side of Miyagi vs a twisted version of the ancient martial arts.

They may have set it up for Sato. Perhaps a Karate event where many masters attended 40 to 50 years prior to demonstrate their styles. Sato may challenge him and get the upper hand but Kim Sun-Yung will use some of the "controversial techniques" to win. Thus angering Sato when he could have won the duel or at least fought more respectfully to a draw of some kind.

I kinda wanna see that they actually competed in a tournament which precurse Sekai Taikai and why Kim Sun Yung exiled himself was due to his loss to Mr Miyagi

Sato knew who Master Kim was, not Miyagi.

Miyagi left Okinawa and went to the US pre-WWII, long before Master Kim started training US soldiers after the Japanese were defeated and forced out of Korea; most notably during Vietnam, which is when Kreese and Silver were trained.

There's no logical reason Miyagi would have encountered Master Kim as the Issei (first generation Japanese immigrants) and Nissei (second generation Japanese-American) soldiers fought in Europe, not the Pacific.

i agree they have to set up the Mr. Miyagi prequel for after season 6 is over many are speculating the prequel because of the hidden chest why else would they show that.

This show has done an outstanding job of honoring the source material. I can't believe they would now do something as dishonorable as recasting Mr Miyagi. Pat made Miyagi who he was. Talk about him, use actual footage, but replacement is just not on.
