I always liked how Miyagi fought. No wasted movement, patience and knew when to counter and when to strike his opponents and most importantly where to strike his opponents. Daniel got to see everything that Miyagi teaches first hand and why its so effective when done right.

For the youth of my generation (Gen X), Mr Miyagi, served as the quintessential example of what a teacher, scoutmaster, coach, teammate, father figure, friend and or opponent could and really should be!! This is why the Karate Kid Franchise lives on not Ralph Macchio’s acting chops or the B’cheesmo lines and overacting performed by the CobraKai Punks ! That’s not to say Martin Kove aka “Kreese” didn’t do well because he was a fantastic protagonist who nailed his part and role as bad buy super boss but The Karate Kid franchise and series wouldn’t have made it beyond the first movie without my man Mr Miyagi aka Pat Morita !! Rest In Peace Sensei . . . Rest In Peace!

It's my least favorite of the first three movies, but I really do like this scene. You can tell just by looking at Miyagi's face that he's thinking, "I have had it with this Cobra Kai bullshit...."
