Using Tor for "casual browsing" is encouraged since it becomes noise for any activity other users want to keep hidden.
If everything done via Tor is illegal or "sercret", then any information obtained by a third party would be valuable.
So if you're only using Tor for the things you want to keep hidden, you're making it really easy for any third party to filter out that information. Use Tor for everything.

NEVER use a password on TOR.
You cannot trust the exist nodes.

TOR stops third parties from viewing your web traffic but does it stop the US Government from monitoring it as they ultimately funded and created TOR? It came out that some VPN providers have kept logs on the web traffic of their users so presumably the US Government can do the same with TOR.

There's a lot we can't get to in 2.5 mins, so if you have anymore questions about Tor, let us know here in the comments.

Dear FBI, I do not plan on ever browsing the dark web. I just want to inform myself on these subjects.

Im surprised no one has taken tor as an advantage to watch their 18+ activities in a more secure environment

I'm not the only one who thought he was going to talk about torr, right? Look, I had a physics final today and I'm exhausted...

I got taught that Tor is a browser that is used for anonymous searching and the fact that regular browsers (firefox, mc edge, opera etc...) contain 10% of the dark web, and Tor contains 90% of tge dark web. Nah I'm not gonna use it

I have a question and I can’t seem to find an answer for it. Every time I see one of these videos, the comments always say something that makes the platform seem dangerous yet it’s meant to be safe. Is it safe or dangerous? Is it better and safer than browsers like chrome or less safe and worse? Sorry if this sounds confusing.

Can the "TOR" browser be used to browse regular and more common websites? Have you ever purchased anything illicit or otherwise from a website on the dark web and if so, how is it possible to know who to trust even regardless of legality. I haven't personally browsed this part of the internet, but I have done quite a bit of research on it and it all seems very "shady" to me. I mean even the regular internet is chock full of predators just waiting to take advantage of unwary browsers. I can only imagine the increased anonymity draws even more of the criminal element. But I do find the idea of "literally" no trail of breadcrumbs everywhere you go very appealing. I don't want to be part of that data siphoning social experiment. If someone wants my info, then let them ask for it just like anybody else.

My school blocks every social media so everyone just gets VPNs, but no VPN would work on my phone so I got the portable Tor Orbot, connect to Tor than use the VPN feature to access things on the school wifi

Thanks for this. Its definitely one of the best explanations. Are you aware of any child abuse/child pornography that is protected by TOR or is this a myth?

Even, Facebook (FB), The New York Times (NYT), and ProtonMail NOW have a .onion version of their websites.
