Let's discuss the use of Tor and a VPN together. Should you do it? Are there any benefits?

The goal of onion routing was to have a way to use the internet with as much privacy as possible, and the idea was to route traffic through multiple servers and encrypt it each step of the way. This is still a simple explanation for how Tor works today.

Ok here is most likely the safest set up you can use. Get a trash notebook you don't care about. Set Up a virtual machine with linux on this notebook and then connect to a paid VPN. Then connect to the TOR network. Is this 100% safe? No. But I am willing to go on a limb and say it's 99% safe. Do with this information whatever you will. If you download something and get compromise kill the entire virtual machine. Again do with this information what you will. I don't encourage anything
