Honestly im sick and tired of all this AI crap, like give us some actual features that dont ask us for our private data or develop better hardware.

The irony.. is Before Apple taught them a lesson in getting too comfortable with their lead position, AMD did it to them a couple years prior.

I have been working on my MacBook M3 Max for two days on battery. In about an hour I will need to charge it.

They should stop using Lake in their codenames as soon as they have a new architecture.

Apple really changed mac timeline with M chips. My m1 pro is better than most new laptops today.

Intel's hybrid cores have been around since 12th gen.

IMO comparing Apple and Intel chips is kind of unfair. Apple chips are like this because they are installed in a hardware tailored to be good. Not only they use the best hardware, their OS' kernel is compiled to perfection, to hardware they know. Only this guarantee an absurd amount of performance and allow them to design the hardware to be as powerful and versatile as possible.

Intel's CPU are made to the general market. They are way more expansive and are way more backward compatible. Not only this, Intel hardware do not have software of their own, with several partners designing "drivers" that are able to cause delays and issues. It is just not a fair comparison.

If you want something powerful, extremely mobile, that can operate at high speeds and still get more than 15 hours battery, go with Macs. If you want something that can take you in any direction, any type of work possible, an Intel with Windows is the way to go. I got both... How cheap is an intel notebook today with a descent i5 cpu and what the heck, 64 GB of RAM??? Because God forbid you want all this memory at Apples without spending 4000 dollars??? What are you going to do with ALL THAT RAM?

But apple gets that performance by integrating memory with cpu and gpu on same die. It is very costly, can't be upgraded and also they cost of upgrading storage options on Macs are soo high, that only fools don't realise how Apple is ripping them.

I can agree with the cost of Apple silicon SOCs, but why is adding extra 512 GB of storage cost so much? There are better SSDs available in the market with far lower cost.

I don't understand how people get fooled or don't notice the apple's upselling trick. Its just insane and feels like cheating.

But they make a damn good SoC that majority of people's needs are met. Like jack of all trades and master of none, but still its better.

Anyways, I think ill always be able to get a better laptop if I go with Windows + (intel or AMD) for the same cost. So always Non-apple.

I'd like competition from non-apple companies making ARM laptop/desktop chips though. I like their perf/watt.

The problem is with Apple is you have to buy a

And I've noticed with Intel it depends on what you're doing depends on if you need the hardware. For instance I believe if you're doing video editing Intel is the better option.

But for gaming it goes to AMD for price to performance and so on and so forth.

It's no longer a one shoe fits all It has its use cases for each

For how many generations have Intel been saying "this new generation will deliver all day battery life and run cool and quiet". What, 6? The Snapdragon X2 series will no doubt launch in the next few months. I think that's more interesting at this point

AMD Ryzen is what rattled Intel first not Apple.

Almost nobody wants a brain dead AI, the few that showed any promise have been more or less broken by their development teams.
It's a fad.
And one that can't go away fast enough.

Why can neither Intel nor AMD nor ARM make chips like M1...3?

Apple and AMD use TSM chips. Intel can't compete with that. TSM supplies the best chips for the high tech world.

Microsoft needs to abandon Wintel if they want to catch up. Devs wont be spending millions of dollars to recode their app and games on Arm unless microsoft announces to remove directx completely on x86

😂this is bogus tho, it's not like the apple silicon is directly competiting with Intel because they are literally only in macbooks... would be a different story if apple were selling them to be put into PCs but I doubt that considering how much they love to control their customers
