E85 is not always E85! Buy a tester so you can see what is actually happening.

Good advice. For people using pump E85 and no flex sensor. . Thanks 👍

In Minnesota, "e85" is 70% ethanol year round loaded at the terminal. I haul fuel for a living.

Great information Ohio really bounces around with E85. Damn weather up here LOL

The winter time they switch the blend to a winter blend, that’s usually when the e percentages go down and gas goes up, for cold starting purposes. I remember watching peatty small block last winter, and his buddy was going gas station to gas station pump 20c in to a e- checker looking for the highest content e, lol.

Biodiesel is even more corrosive than ethanol (make a good paint remover though). Try to buy diesel that the least amount of biodiesel in it. I buy mine locally at the Quick Trip stations because their diesel has "up to 5%" biodiesel. Avoid the diesel that says it has "at least 5%" biodiesel. The engine warranty for my Dodge diesel says that the engine warranty is void if more than 5% biodiesel in found in my fuel system.

Here in Southwest Virginia we have but one station with E85. It is a Sheetz. We definitely get four seasons here. I have tested the E85 in January and it is still 85% in this area. I'm sure it's different farther north, but here it stays 85% year-round

I’ve got a sensor wired into my terminator x. I’ve been lucky and always gotten between E70-E80 every time so far from the station here

I still don’t know why we don’t use switchgrass to make instead of corn. We used to grow corn up North in SD, but we sold our land to my wife’s uncle who farms most all the rest of the land. I think Switchgrass can grow everywhere. We are high in clay and the Granite rock is 18 inches down. I’m thinking of buying some land here and distilling it to mix with 87 octane. My neighbor distributes VP and Rocket by the 55 gallon drum. I’m thinking E85 would spoil, so it would have to be 110 gas or Methanol. Any ideas?

After going through the E85 route I would not recomend it at all. More so with carbs. And it has a very short shelflife. And blocks jets and injectors.
Dealing with racefuel suppliers who say that theirs is consistent 85% and dyno operators who concur.
I have gone back to petrol, , though now 102 octane that is NOT avgas. And yes the engine will need to be retuned or go up a jet or two.

I just use the Fuel-it Wireless Bluetooth Ethanol Sensor. Gives you E85 content on your cell phone.

I've heard quite a few people say that there really isn't much difference once it's over 60-65%. Meaning, it essentially performs the same if it's 65% or 85%. Is there any truth to that?

I'm a big fan of yours and I'm glad you made this video. The only reason ethanol is in our gas is because politicians got paid off by corn producers. It was a bad idea from the start because no matter how much ethanol you find in the gas you just bought when it is in a gas tank the ethanol doesn't stay mixed. The ethanol is heavier so it sinks to the bottom of your gas tank where your fuel pickup is. You will burn all the ethanol over time and be left with only 87 octane gas. There is a term for this but I don't remember it. Companies that have big fleets of gasoline powered vehicles have a lot of engine damage from this happening.

I don’t know how the carb guys keep up with it? Always changing.

Hope to see some racing this weekend! Live stream, you know...while you got all that FreeTime! 😂 I haven't seen any Limpy videos lately... Is he ok? Seems like I saw something had him down or something, hopefully nothing serious! ✌😎

takes 3 wires to hookup a flex sensor.. No testing required lol
