How to Fix Issue Where Garmin Edge Will Not Pair with Smart Phone (iPhone)

My Garmin Edge and iPhone sometimes don't like each other and won't pair, but I've finally figured out a series of steps that seems to work. I have no idea why they don't like to play together sometimes and Garmin support has been pretty useless giving me a procedure that works. Hopefully this will work for you.

This works great with Edge 520 Plus and iPhone. I have come back to this video more than once, typically after an Garmin Edge update. I would also mention that often the Edge 520 Plus is listed several times on the iPhone Bluetooth settings page. It is important to hit Forget This Device for all of them!

Thanks for posting, this had been driving me nuts (Edge 520 with iPhone). I managed to shorten the steps to:
- open bluetooth settings and"forget" Edge_520 and BLE_Edge 520
- switch to airplane mode
- turn on Garmin 520
- switch off airplane mode
- open bluetooth settings and pair... first Edge_520 and then BLE_Edge 520
- go ride!
