If you’re still watching I’m 2022+ the app has changed to ‘go daddy studio’ instead of over 🤞🏾 Still works like a charm

Ayy that’s crazy I made that orange wavy texture, I actually put it online just for people watching my tutorial to use it. It’s crazy how much it blew up, I’m glad you liked it

I’ve been trying to figure out making cover art free for a while now, downloaded over 15 different apps, and was truly raging frustrated at the entire ordeal. Thank you for this. Now I can upload my music bro!

Wasn't even trying to go down an L.Dre rabbit hole but the videos just keep addressing my questions as a newbie. Not all heroes wear capes. Some are tables.

I’ve been using Canva for my first 2 and probably next 5 Spotify releases. Not for everyone as mine are themed—ultra basic line art, the title of the track in all caps basic font and my label name much smaller below that.

I hate busy artwork. It’s not about my cover art for me. It’s about the music.

I love this. It taught me not to overcomplicate things. Simplicity + Creativity is key.

GIMP is free and open source, and it can pretty much do everything Photoshop can. It's a little harder to learn but there are tutorials and pre-made scripts for most things already on the internet somewhere.

a good photoshop alternative is photopea, it uses the file format psd like photoshop and similar features and its on your browser so ease of use.

Hey other viewers of this vid (which was super useful and well done), I have a question:

As a freelance designer who previously only designed for fun but have started considering it more seriously since Covid, if y’all DID want to go through an artist for it, *how much would you ideally want to pay for per cover/piece?* And I mean ideally. Not an hourly amount like most designers would normally do (something I completely understand but don’t really want to do for the sake of simplicity), but a flat rate for album art that would work for you as a regular person who has their own things to think about financially.

🤔 How much would you really want to pay if you knew it would be both quality and personalized?
