3 diabetes must haves when I travel! #shorts

It’s the summer, and you may be considering going on a vacation with your friends or your family…

So you’ve got to make sure that you pack these three things before your next adventure.

1. 2-3x my total insulin pump supplies

This way if my site falls out while I’m away or there’s a problem with my infusion set I have the ability to change it multiple times. For example if I’m expecting 2 site changes while I’m gone, I may bring 6 infusion sets.

2. Lavior Diabetes Wound Gel AND Lavior First Aid Gel:

the first aid gel helps prevent infection and heal cuts and scrapes faster. The wound gel helps prevent scar tissue formation and I use it on my old insulin pump sites as a first line of defense to heal faster.

3. My backup long and short acting insulin pens:

In case my insulin pump decides to bite it, I need the ability to still get my insulin, so I’ve got these as backup just in case.

The goal is to be prepared so you don’t have to worry about any of this, but at least you’ve got it with you. Better to have it and not need it than be SOL.

What do you use to keep your fast acting & lantus pens & your novolog/ humalog cool when traveling. I use frio packs but getting tired of those and I sometimes use a yeti style canister with a reusable ice pack. Any suggestions for alternatives? Can you share a link to the wound gel please ?
