Make sure to fade out the lows too if your next track has bass in the intro, you don't want 2 basslines overlapping.

I know it's less creative, but just set a cue 4-8-16 bars before the end of the phrase you wanna mix out from, use colorcode for an 4-8-16 bar cue, and do the same on the in track and before the mix in point

This may be so for dance/edm music but a different ball game if you are mixing hiphop or dancehall esp tracks where the start of the track is basically the drop or starts with lyrics but still this is a great tip as I play around with all genres 👍

THE VERY FIRST rule of mixing!
If you don't know this, you're not mixing, you're doing the drop and cut technique in every song....which is 80% of what nowadays djs are doing.

I just started. Still learning beatmatching. I understand using the tempo fader, but I do not get the jog wheel. Especially when songs are playing at the same time.

Following this is good practice, but it makes the experience too mechanical for my taste. If you take away the visual cues and listen/vibe with the music, you will know when to fade in/out and how (because producer usually leave clues for phrase changes in their music all the time). Sure it will take more practice to get it right but its also more fun.
