Crimea attack: ATACMS missile shrapnel rains down on beach

New footage released by Russian media shows the moment alleged ATACMS missile submunitions fell into the sea and onto the beach in Sevastopol.

The strike killed at least four civilians, including two children, and injured 153 others, according to Russian officials.

The Kremlin on Monday blamed the U.S. for the attack, and formally warned the U.S. ambassador that retaliation would follow. Russia said the U.S. had supplied the weapons, while the U.S. military had aimed them and provided data.

Pentagon spokesperson Major Charlie Dietz said that "Ukraine makes its own targeting decisions and conducts its own military operations."

A U.S. official later said that Ukraine was not targeting civilians. It seemed that the Russians were able to intercept an ATACMS missile that was targeting a missile launcher, and the ATACMS exploded with shrapnel raining down on the beach, the American official added.

Seems most of you need reading and/or comprehension skills. The fact that it’s missile shrapnel implies the missile was intercepted and exploded, thus creating the shrapnel field that fell. The beach wasn’t being targeted.
