Being middle-aged I've spoken with people for 15 minutes or more only to recognize something about them and ask "did you used to work/go to school at ..." and realized that it's Billy who showed me a different way to tie my shoes in the first grade, sort of a thing. People change, memories fade.

Imagine being a kid and seeing someone once or a couple times and then you have a horribly traumatic experience and then see that person again 15ish years later, would you remember them

Kanan did say "why are you here" he most definitely recognized her, and it was stated they used to train in the temple together

I like how Ashoka is the common thread that connects all the Star Wars shows she’s an awesome character! I liked this episode better than the previous I’m hoping to see more Rebels connections and characters, maybe Ezra will meet Luke? xD

In Rebels Kanan literally says something that he knew Ahsoka already!

It's like having a classmate in 3rd grade, moving away, and then seeing them again 15 years later in a country across the world. You wouldn't think it's the same person unless they talk about 3rd grade.

When Ahsoka first shows up in Rebels, when Kanan sees her he doesn’t say “who are you?” He says “Why are YOU here?” He did recognize her and wondered where she had been.

It’s interesting that when Ahsoka or Kanan remember Order 66 and/or Vader, it’s never in the same place. I’d love that dialogue.

When I was little some firefighters came to my school to show us how the fire truck worked. As a kid, super cool. Those firefighters could drag me out of my burning house today. I’d have no idea they were the same firefighters

I think I remember that whole scene being a massive inconsistency with obi wan having long hair, Tera sinube being in the room but when he first meets ahsoka later on they act like they don't know eachother, and of course kanan being in the room but not knowing ahsoka.

I thought about this today when I was watching tails waiting for Ahsoka to drop. I imagine he’d been through a lot and maybe the whole thing slipped his mind. Plus I imagine it would be weird fighting a rebellion and being like “I think I saw you train one time.”

We could say this about countless character interactions in star wars at this point. As much context as the extended information adds, it's still in post and so we all need to make our own peace with it to appreciate the context that it did at.
The prequels have a ton of things that's detract from the original trilogy but it time it becomes less important than the major notes.
