The Teacher screwed up. Now those kids will look up those gods and learn those stories on the internet

Yeah, mythology is a rather *interesting* subject in that regard.

Loki in MCU: I was young and I lost a bet to Thor
Loki in Myth: If there's a pole, there's a goal... wait...

Swede here, we actually talk about Norse mythology in elementary school. My teachers didn't really sugarcoat much, they told us Sleipnir and Jörmungandr were the children of Loki and that Odin gained his knowledge by sacrificing his eye to the well, and so on

Kids can take more than we give em credit for :]

Let's not forget that Thor loved committing genocide against the Giants because he thought it was fun.

Something, something, Thor would eat his goats but they would always grow back unless you broke one of their bones
Odin “hung” himself with his spear and that is how he became the all-father
And my personal favorite,
Loki is the mother of Sleipnir, Odin’s horse

Fenrir: "I'll wear this collar, but only if someone sticks their hand in my mouth, to prove that there's no trick."
Other Gods:
Tyr: "Y'all are bitches!" *sticks hand in his mouth*

Didn't talk about how Loki forced Thor to crossdress. That was a fun one.

I unintentionally learned about Norse mythology in 6th grade. We had to read about when Thor and Loki went to visit Utgard-Loki and answer a few questions. The next year, I learned more about Mythology on my own time and I was immediately hooked. Now any time someone I hang out with mentions Odin, I casually mention that he rides his nephew into battle.

“Wow Heracles is so great! Such a great film. Greek mythology is so fascinating, don’t you agree?”
“Yeah! And I was thinking why don’t we study up some Greek folklores about Greek gods, could be fun.”
“Why not, got nothing else better to do. I personally can’t wait to see how glorious Zeus is!”

I feel like Loki wouldn't want you to talk about that story, either. He's probably still trying to forget.

Then there’s my school. Telling a bunch of six year olds how Sleipnir was born, but gods forbid we talk about kissing. Western Jutland is weird

To finish what he said about the goats, Thor would kill his goats for food and they’d be resurrected by morning good as new, as long as none of the bones were broken. If the bones were broken, they’d stay that way and then the goats would have to heal like a normal goat for months until they could move, which would’ve sucked for Thor because his goats were the ones who pulled his sled/carriage thing.

This is why if I become a history teacher imma teach high-school history since I don't have to filter anything since they're practically adults anyway
