When laptops are not repairable anymore, we sometimes call it dead laptops. we can still repurpose some parts especially the screen, turning it into an external desktop monitor for our computers, we can also use it as a secondary or dual monitor. What a great find, the waste from old laptops has bugged me for years. Now it turns out I don't need to buy new monitors for my Raspberry Pi4, I will diy them from old laptops.

Great use for old laptop screens! Unfortunately the converter and power adapter seem to cost as much as a bigger/used LCD desktop monitor.
Two suggestions for the cable placement:
- if you make a rectangular/circular hole in the middle of the clipboard to pass the LCD cable through, it will not be visible in the bottom.
- if the controller board is placed closer to the middle of the clipboard, the VGA/HDMi/DVI cable will not be visible on the side.
