Should there be a concern about using a piece of natural wood to wrap in these flooring skins since natural wood tends to expand and contract more with temperature and humidity changes? It seems like the bond could possibly become weak and break over time.

My assumption was that it's okay to glue down the flooring on stairs because stairs are relatively narrow and you wouldn't see much expansion. I really hate stepping on that raised nosing in my bare feet.
