Installing Vinyl Plank Flooring onto Stair Risers Easy DIY

in this video I install vinyl plank flooring to the risers of a neo-angle stair landing. This can be used on stairs that are fully carpeted as well and can provide a modern clean crisp look. It is a super easy job.

I picked up a box of vinyl plank flooring for $15 from the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. The ReStore is an amazing place to find unique building materials for cheap.

The process for install is real simple. Measure the "riser" between the bullnose and tread of the stair. Rip the pieces of vinyl plank to width and cut to length. Use a sharp knife or utility knife to back-cut the angle. Then install using 1 1/4" 18ga brad nails.

To control shade of Sharpie, use a little spit on the area first, then the Sharpie. Wipe, and repeat until proper blend of contrast is satisfactory! Sharpies come in a variety colors!
