Why US Military Bases are NOT In France?

The United States is known to be one of the top 10 countries with the most powerful military strength and bases worldwide. In fact, according to a recent post by Forbes India, the US is ranked number 1 with a power index of 0.0712 and 1,832,000 military personnel. 

Also, they are known to have nearly 800 military bases spread across 80 nations: 
But did you know that France, a key ally and a major global player, doesn't host any U.S. military bases?

This fact might raise some eyebrows, considering the widespread presence of U.S. bases globally. So, what's the story behind this absence?

It seems that there may be loopholes.
Not sure where they were stationed but thanks to my father who was an ex-pat we use to play touch football along other American ex-pats against US marines every other Sundays in the late 70's early 80's in "Bois de Boulogne" Biggest park includes tracks and field in Paris.

France has the impenetrable Maginot line. that is unless migrants have taken it over.
