Watching this always reminds me of my childhood, watching this film with my mother, who was both mother and father to me. We didn't have much money and this was the only film we owned so we watched it many times together, I always loved this scene and how cute the puppies are! Thus is so cute and I love how Lucky, the puppy who leans up on the tv, has spots on its back in the shape of a horseshoe--truly lucky! :)

I really like little scenes like this that still add a lot to the characters. In this case, it introduces the family bond and dynamic that Pongo and Perdita have with their puppies after they're born and before they're kidnapped and gets the audience further invested in them. One of the puppies declaring that "no dog's better than dad" when they're talking about Thunderbolt, Perdy getting onto Patch for his name calling, Lucky getting in front of the screen and being told to get down, the puppies cheering on for Thunderbolt, moments like those just add to the believability and likability of the characters.

Also, the announcer's reaction to being turned off at 3:57 is a really funny little blink-and-you-miss-it moment.

I found an article that said that Pongo & Perdita had 8 boy puppies (Lucky, Patch, Rolly, Freckles, Fidget, Dipstick, Whizzer, & Thunder) and 7 girl puppies (Penny, Pepper, Jewel, Two-Tone, Cadpid, Purdy, & Spotty).

Interesting fact. The puppy with the black eye said that “Thunderbolt” was better than his dad. However, he was the puppy who looked concerned when Jasper kicked Pongo. Pongo then delivered a grade A butt kicking.

This is one of my favourite animated movies aesthetically. I love this era of Disney animation where they left some frames with lines from the rough/pencil animation. The backgrounds are often really stark and geometric and the colours look almost watercolour and bleed outside of the lines.

I love this scene, the puppies are so adorable 🥰. I love Rolly, Patch, Lucky and the girl puppies. They’re all my favorite 😍. And that part where Patch said ripping his gizzard I was like oh gosh 😂, that’s pretty strong word for a kid like him to use, I know you like the show but hold your horses a bit. I remember drawing a picture of Patch with Kanine Crunchies box. I think I posted it on my insta but I’ll check. Anyway about Rolly oh man, always with the appetite, Budderball too from the buddies movies franchise. If anybody watched the 101 Dalmatians tv series, you probably saw the episode where Rolly ended up getting kidnapped following the truck full of food. Everybody has a weakness and food was his weakness. Always focusing on your stomach can sometimes get you in a loaf of trouble.
