What makes Nanny an essential character? She was pissed at the thought of them stealing the good silver; she was heartbroken and sad when she found out they stole the puppies. She'd rather have them steal the silver than the dogs.

These Disney classics still hold up visually for sure. I still think this animation is top notch despite being over 60 years old! Rest In Peace Wolfgang Reitherman (one of the directors and artists). If he could see Disney now and what a monstrosity they’ve become, I’m sure the guy is rolling in his grave.

Pongo was right about Nanny, she IS almost canine - she's like a corgi or a terrier, one of those dogs who may LOOK small and cute, but will raise a lot of noise and put up a good fight if they catch anyone breaking into their house.
