Explaining The Moon Phases

The moon is a really hard topic for some students. This video will show you a clever technique if you are having trouble with the different moon phases. This diagram that I use if always found on your regents exam.

Better diagram than others, so far. What I’d love to see is a chart which you can revolve 360deg relative to the sun, for each phase of the moon. This would illustrate how a particular observer on the earth sees the moon travel across the sky. After all, that’s what we actually observe.
An idea for the future? Or do your other videos cover this?

this doesn't include the perspective from the southern hemisphere ( so actually inaccurate from our perspective, in terms of the side of the light for waxing and waning ). i am trying to understand how to make this diagram work from the southern perspective...switch the direction of the moon..?! or...?

How does the Earth not block the sunlight from the full moon? Based on this diagram it looks like the Earth would be blocking the sunlight
