There's no shadow because the moon revolves around us at an angle/slant. Not in a perfect horizontal line relative to the sun. Therefore light still gets to the moon and reflects back to earth.

When the sun earth and moon do eventually align, due to many factors, that is when the earth casts a shadow on the moon called a lunar eclipse.

I think it's almost impossible to find a precise video about a simple thing on YouTube, which is the movement of the moon and earth together. Not a single video is precise. Disappointing.

My favorite thing is that the new moon not only is too dark to see at night but also.not even there, so a new moon is like the moon saying bye for a moment

Thanks for this simple, clear and beautiful animation. For good reasons, there is not enough emphasis on the rotation of the moon. That's why the dark face is not fully understood. It would have been more understandable if a mark had been placed on the dark side.

this is not correct. 
It does not show the rotation of moon on its axis correctly. 
E.g. we only see one face of the moon from anywhere on earth

Notice that: (i) moon is always half lit just like earth (causing day/night on moon as well just like earth) (ii) same face of the moon is always facing us (because moon's rotation=revolution) but the view of how much of this face is lit by Sun appears as phases of the moon. If this entire face is lit it is called full moon, only half of it is lit (quarter moon), none of it is lit (new moon). So phases are caused by our perception / view of face of the moon that is always facing us (the earth) and amount of that face that is lit by the Sun.

Thanks for this. I'm really dumb and couldn't figure out the moons phases. For some reason, even knowing how the earth and moon rotate, my minds eye couldn't see it and I was having issues with visualizing the moon and sun together in the sky where the moon appears only half visible. SciManDan started this rabbithole for me if anyone is interested, he's got a great flat earth debunking channel.
