Waxing Gibbous
Full Moon
Waning Gibbous
Last Quarter
Waning Crescent
It takes the moon 29.5 days to go through these 8 phases.
I provide pictures to help you learn the moon phases.

Question: Why is it in your diagram with all phases shown that the crescent waxing moon has dark on left contributed to sun’s light being on the left, but the other crescent moon (waning crescent) mostly dark in opposition to sun’s light, or in short: bright on same side as sun?? I dont get it. :((

If the Sun is on the left like this shows, how is the moon lit on the right side? your images make no sense!
