You will learn how to:

Remove the CoPilot icon from the Windows 11 Taskbar
Remove CoPilot Completely from Windows 11
Remove all Bing Searches from the Start Menu
Remove the Bing Icon from the Start Menu
Remove Bing as the default search engine in Edge (and replace it with Google)
Make Google your Microsoft Edge Homepage
Make Google the default for New Tabs in Microsoft Edge
Fix it if Google isn't available as a choice in the Drop Down in Microsoft Edge

1:35 - Remove the icon from the Search bar in the Taskbar
2:55 - Remove the Web Searches in the Start Menu & the BING icon in the Start Menu using 'DisableSearchBoxSuggestions'

If this video helped you and you want to support the channel, you can do so here:

In the video at 14:08 I talk about how to fix Edge if Google doesn't appear as a selectable search engine. In the URL field with %s in place of query field, paste the following:
{google:baseURL}search?q=%s&{google:RLZ}{google:originalQueryForSuggestion}{google:assistedQueryStats}{google:searchboxStats}{google:searchFieldtrialParameter}{google:iOSSearchLanguage}{google:prefetchSource}{google:searchClient}{google:sourceId}{google:contextualSearchVersion}ie={inputEncoding}

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Microsoft is beginning to feel like that old boyfriend who just keeps SENDING YOU THINGS YOU DON'T WANT! Thank you for your clarity in explanation as well.

I watched your other video a while back and it helped me a lot. Since Copilot came out I was actually going to message and ask if you would update that video and I couldn’t believe you just posted it. Freaking legend. Everything you said worked exactly as you demonstrated. 1000% awesome.

I tried the registry editior metro and still it didn’t disable this..
fucking hell. This is so annoying. I don’t want any stinky ai chats or bing icons in my search window. This is just a minor issue right, but it’s showing of the general trend. I am starting to consider switching to Linux .

Thank you very much. Great video, easy to follow for someone like me (who knows nothing about tech), and sorely needed. Tired of MS ramming all this down my throat. Subscribed.

This is gold! I would suggest that slowing the playback speed to .75 in the video options helped me to follow along better and apply changes in real-time but must caveat that I am slow and this dude is fast AF! Thanks for the help! Subbed!

All of it worked. 'cept completely removing copilot from task bar settings. I have win 11 home. So, I found the script to create a .bat file and got gpedit.msc up and running. I have copilot disabled in group policy editor. I have signed out, back in even rebooted. It wont go away. Running Win 11 Home v. 23H2. Awesome vid. Thanks

Thanks for this, your next video has to be how to get rid of top apps. It's not accurate as I think I have used the snipping tool about 3 times, plus I don't want my secondary browser showing up in the results. 😉

Very clear and thorough explanation. I went through it and was easily able to get rid of bing, and the copilot icon in the taskbar. BUT, when I attempted to go further....went to "start" and then hit "gp" to cue group edits, this never came up....even if I typed in the full gpedits. It simply said "nothing found." So, unfortunately that's as far as I could go, and was not able to remove copilot altogether.

Thanks for demonstrating the Extension to have a custom New Tab: now I *do* have what I consider to the "correct" New Tab, i.e. *about:blank* … but it's still insane that I have to install an _Extension_ just to do that (!).

Gpedit doesn’t pull up anything not even edit group policy

Great video!! Thanks!! I uninstalled Edge all together, after a minor regedit. Afterwards when something would try to launch Edge, widows threw an error saying ie is not supported anymore. LOL. Now I will install Firefox, with the Ghostery extension for worry free web surfing on my terms, not bing, edge, cp, screwgle, or facetwit. Cheers!!

Thanks but the group policy editor fix isn't working for me as of Windows 11 23H2 Home edition with gpedit added

Thank you thank you thank you . I needed this today because after I did the Tuesday Security Updates on my Win 10 22H2 PC Microsoft somehow upgraded my PC to Win11 24H2 (which I thought wasn't available yet ???) So, using your Video I managed to remove/Disable all the items that worried me about Win11 .I'm now Subscribed and will be following your channel . Cheers !
