My 26 year old son is thinking about buying a 2012 Toyota Corolla from Carvana. Thank you for this simple break down.

I have a 2010 Toyota Camry 2.5L with the 6 Speed Manual Transmission. I have 276, 000 miles on the original engine and tranny. Only major work I had done was clutch around 169, 000 miles. My engine doesn't burn one drop of oil and it runs silky smooth and phenomenal on gas. I change my oil every 5K or every 6 months. But I do about 3 oil changes in a year. Camry's are Great cars!!

Thank God I saw this. I just saw a 2007 Camry for sale with the same engine and I was really considering buying it.

Good video. Just two things that were not mentioned on the list. First, some of the 4 cylinder 2012 - 2014 Camrys has issues with the torque converter. There was a TSB that was issued for this (not a recall) for 8 years or 150K miles. If you went over that and had issues you were on your own. The second issue was transmission “hunting”issues on later model Camry’s (I think 2018 - 2019). That also affected alot of cars.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I’m looking to get an older Camry for cash and get out of payments and constant repairs on my Kia, and hopefully have a reliable car that I can trust. One of the things I hate about my soul, an early gdi, is that it eats a quart every thousand or so miles (admittedly at 190, 000 miles. I would be bent if I did the work to cash out a Camry and then found it had a consumption issue as well. Knowing what to avoid is amazingly helpful. Thank you!

I had a 1999 Toyota Camry LE V6 that I bought in November 1998. Had that vehicle for 22 years and 275, 000 miles without any major issue. Unfortunately, being so old, the trim/seals were brittle and allowed rainwater leaks. Hurricane Ida forced me to donate it after the interior turned green from the water that blew in and the trunk was half full of rusty water. 😢

My 2007 rav4 v6 did not have these issues, mine was totaled in February, it was very fast. Just bought a 2005 lexus es 330 with 106k miles. I'm hooked on the v6's now.

It's not as worst as the 2ZZ-GE oil pump when it stop working as your driving and there goes your whole engine head. My 2AZ-FE doesn't burn oil, however if it's past 3, 000kms with dirty oil, the oil level will start to drop low to the bottom hole on the dip stick I do my oil changes every 3, 000kms. My engine has 283, 000kms, it's extremely reliable with modifications that doesn't affect my reliability.

I bought a 2007 Scion Tc and put 286, 000 miles on it will very little trouble. I guess I got lucky.

Question on 4Runners…….I know they’re relatively bulletproof, but what years are best? I’ve seen ‘16 and ‘20. How about the facelift year of ‘14?

Nah. Scion xB is a must. I would definitely buy another Scion xB. 2012-2015. Best car I ever own. Never gonna sell it at all

v6 Rav4 may be a challenge when it comes to changing spark plugs, though
