I’m a 42 year old Iraq/Afghanistan combat veteran and one of the greatest songs ever written and sang is “keep it between the lines” I listened to that song many many times in the desert and it made me think of my dad many times.

Yes because he went with God and not the devil...and because of that he is still with his family and with us....

The vocals on "I'll leave this world loving you" are beautiful and some of his best. That being said, he had a lot of great songs.

Ricky paid homage to real country by singing great songs like "From a Jack to a King" and "Statue of a Fool" both done by Jack Greene, and he saw the direction that " country " was headed and as Marty Stuart put it " the most outlaw thing you can do in Nashville these days is to play traditional country music." Good for him raising his family, getting back home . A wise man told me once, it will never be how much you have or how much money that impacts this world, it is the family that you raise.

As far as I'm concerned, Ricky Van Shelton was, and is, one of the icons of country music. He may have gone the way many musicians did with the drugs or booze, but he was tops in country for years, and still is. Ricky Van Shelton is one of the greatest country/gospel singers of all time. He had a pure voice and other that KK, I believe one of the best ever. As for his disappearance, what ever makes him happy works for me. I can still listen to his music and enjoy what he did for years.

AS the old saying goes, "You can't judge a man till you walk a mile in his shoes." this story explains a lot about, to me, one of the very best voices to ever enter the Country Music world. He's not alone with his struggle with alcohol. Many people (and musicians, vovalists) adhere to the same temptations and less than perfect decisions. To me, he will always be one of the best vocalists of all times. As a performer, myself, I admire the man and sing several songs made famous by him while I am on stage. Many thanks, Ricky!

My Mom absolutely LOVED Ricky. It was so cute to see this little old lady get excited about her favorite star. I got her a fan club membership with a signed picture and she kept it on the mirror by her bed until she passed. I also got the books he wrote and the one his wife wrote for her and she loved them. I think my favorite song was, Somebody Lied, but I never asked her favorite because I think she just loved then all. I'm so happy to hear he's doing well and has the love of his family still with him. I know it was rough at times, but God has seen him through.

Always loved Ricky Van Shelton & still miss hearing his amazing voice. It would be nice if he could make a singing appearance here & there. I’d love to see him. Always a fan.

He’s absolutely happy! I’ve played his annual Christmas breakfast a few times and let me tell ya. He hasn’t lost an iota of his voice! One of the most humble and generous people you will ever meet!

I love his music. I can understand his leaving because I've dealt with alcoholism and substance abuse myself. I really miss his music but he's in a much better place. God bless you Ricky 🙏. After watching this, I see that I need to look for a couple more of his cds that I don't have. God be with you and your family.

My favorite song of his was Life turned her that way. I love most of his songs, and I think he's doing the right thing by not staying in the music business. No one stays on top forever, when it's time, it's time. I'm sure he's living a good life and love by his families. I still listen to his music from time to time.
