"Article 5 kicks in, in essence. Poland has been attacked. Poland is a Nato country. If a native country is attacked, Article 5 can kick in."

Russia had been warned about such mistakes, many times, yet they flew cruise missiles near the Polish border. They did this during the G20 meeting. If two people have died, because of this, then the response should be that NATO takes over control of Ukraine airspace to prevent any further "accidents" from happening.

The response should include an enforced no fly zone over western ukraine. Whether accidental or not, it was a reckless act that requires a substantive response. If no apology is forthcoming, then longer range himars and missiles need to be provided to ukraine.

Speaking of an accidental strike on Polish farmlands as being acceptable, while Russia is intentionally targeting Ukrainians cities is beyond me.

As a citizen of Poland I am very sorry for the victims of this barbarian russian attack against my country. It happened in a remote, rural, agricultural and sparsely inhabited area, yet two people lost their lives ...

At the very minimum no doubt now 100% justification for ATACMS missiles to be sent to Ukraine to knock out these launch sites and other targets at the very minimum. I am sure this is one of the measures being discussed.

doesn't matter if intentional or not = if you rob a bank next door to a children's school and a shot GOES astray your still guilty of crime

Yep, it’s an accident…like all the other civilian targets hit in Ukraine 🤔

This requires a very strong response from the west, even if Russians didn’t do it on purpose to Poland. They sure did it to Ukraine on purpose…

Whether intended or not: a response must occur. No fly zone

There should be NO discussion for NATO. They should already have planned for exactly this scenario and have their response set in stone

If this doesn't follow by the appropriate military response by NATO and Poland, Russia will see it as weakness and do it again !!

Whether or not it is deliberate does not matter. If there is no response than the lesson is Article 5 does not matter.

Even if it is an accident it is not ok to tolerate border casualties with the excuse of being just a mistake. So now we accept excuses from Russia for its sloppyness with the price of NATO citizens? Imagine if these two rockets would have hit a village in the UK or the US. What would your response be then?

Russia has hereby demanded at least the delivery of Western long-range (300+ km) weapon systems to Ukraine.

The West literally cannot just say no harm no foul, or we shouldn't be taken seriously.

ONE rocket can be an accident but TWO is on purpose.

It could have been a targeting error, but it was clearly a precision strike on that grain elevator. The chances of two "off course" missiles hitting a complex in the middle of hundreds of square miles of farmland are vanishingly remote.

No way that the missile attack on Poland is a mistake, it’s just too far from a Ukrainian target. Far more likely that elements within the Russian armed forces want a response from NATO.
