I like how Vader suggests everything but killing Luke. He couldn't do that.

When you listen to Vader’s line “He’s just a boy” as less of a dismissal of Luke’s threat potential and more of a subtle plea for the Emperor to not order Luke’s execution… it hits different.

Vader’s suggestion to try turning Luke to the dark side was actually an improvised way to save the life of his son, the only thing left in the galaxy that could remind him of his dead wife.

I love this scene... how Vader and Palpatine are actively plotting against each other, it has Sith written all over it. Vader clearly already knew Luke was his son by this point, yet he was playing along.

It just makes me so happy that the Vader character was ever created. Hes just so damn badass. Now knowing the tragedy and conflict within him just makes these movies even better. So awesome.

You can feel Vader's anger is amplified as he calmly gives the imperials instructions for searching for the rebels

I'm surprised.

Anakin was devoted to Padme. So much so that even VADER was reverent towards Padme.

The Emperor refers to Luke as "the offspring of Anakin Skywalker" because of Vader's self Loathing.

He didn't dare call Luke "Padme's son", or refer to Padme in any way. Because he knew better. He couldn't spit on Padme's memory and expect to get away with it.

But, Vader would have still known that Sidious lied to him. Which, in Vader's case should have been met with rightous outrage.

But Vader kept it in check. And I don't think it's because he doesn't care. I think it's because he knows just how dangerous sidious is.

Which means, care and prudence overcame hus rage. Which means, Vader immediately starts dying, and Anakin starts coming back.

It surprises me that Sidious didn't consider this very obvious possibility.
