Although having evidence of infidelity and ignoring it does happen, just as often accusations are made in the complete absence of evidence. Yes, religion is a perfect example. We want to believe in the after life, it makes us feel better etc.. Also for survival, it’s best to believe the snake is poisonous than not, raises your chance for survival. Humans are flawed, just be a good person and don’t force dogma onto the young and innocent.
