I actually want this because i never got to mess with linux on ps2. Apparently sony had developer tools in it that allowed you to make your own video games

This was done to avoid classifying the PS2 as a games console for certain countries' taxes since it could be used as a PC

Sony realized you could port emulated games onto the OS. You could have had every game made installed on a ps2 hard drive. So the whole thing was swept under the carpet and w very console since has to have a closed browser associated with it.

Actually, you can plug in most of not dedicated mouses and keybords to PlayStation 2 and some games like Quake 3 Arena or Unreal actually suports it.

Sucks they dropped Linux early in the PS3's lifespan

They only added Linux to the PS2 to avoid taxes over Europe, advertising the ps2 as a computer
