Apa Sherpa is a legendary climber, who has summited Mount Everest 21 times. He is known as the Super Sherpa, the Michael Jordan of Mountaineering, and the Tiger of the Himalayas. He worked as the Sirdar (chief Sherpa) for renowned climbers Rob Hall and Anatoli Boukreev, subjects of the 2015 film Everest. Mr. Sherpa is also the founder of the Apa Sherpa Foundation, which funds the building of schools, hospitals, and orphanages in his home country of Nepal.
I was honored to talk with Mr. Sherpa about his incredible feats at the top of the world (literally!) and humbled to hear about he is working to help the impoverished people of his homeland. I hope the interview is both exciting and informative for you.
