I learned this back in 2006 in the movie “Click” when Adam Sandlers character called out his dad for using a trick coin.

I remember this trick being sold in magic shops in the 1970s. At the time, it was demonstrated that the magician would fold the quarter and cover the top of his hand with a handkerchief and drop the folded quarter into a wine bottle. And people were amazed on how it was done. Another coin trick that was sold right next to that coin trick, was a quarter or a Kennedy 50 cent piece that would have a hole right in the middle that would open up like a little door that was the diameter of a cigarette. Then the magician would get a lit cigarette which was the actual diameter of the little round door and he would push the cigarette right through the quarter or the 50 cent piece giving it the illusion that the cigarette went right through the coin.

Fun fact, this trick can be done with an actual quarter. You have to heat the quarter until it's good enough to bite a piece off. I've watched collins do it.
