History Bites: A Conversation with Dr. Jane Goodall

Показать описание
Dr. Jane Goodall, DBE, is a UN Messenger of Peace and one of the greatest scientists in history. As a young woman in the 1960s, she gained renown for her study of wild chimpanzees in the forests of Gombe National Park, Tanzania. She made groundbreaking discoveries and forever changed the way humans understand animals.
Over the last forty years, Dr. Jane has worked tirelessly to bring about better lives for people in impoverished areas, to promote peace and love, and to put an end to abuses of animals and the environment. As part of her efforts, she started the Jane Goodall Institute and Roots and Shoots, which work to implement her goals in dozens of countries around the world. Dr. Jane's bestselling books include In the Shadow of Man, Reason for Hope, and The Book of Hope. She has been featured in many documentaries, including the recent IMAX film Reason for Hope. She also received a knighthood from Prince (now King) Charles and even has her own Barbie© doll and Lego© set!
I met this extraordinary woman in February 2023 while filming in Tanzania. Dr. Jane kindly agreed to appear on the channel and asked if we could do an interview when she was in New York City in April.
Two months later, sitting together on the 50th floor of a Manhattan hotel, that's exactly what we did. I hope you enjoy the interview!
