The FBI on Monday morning told reporters that would-be Trump assassin Thomas Crooks accessed the roof of a building near former President Trump's July 13 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, by climbing up HVAC equipment and piping.

Crooks then traversed multiple rooftops before he found his shooting position on top of a building owned by American Glass Research (AGR), located near the Butler Farm Show fairgrounds about 150 yards from where the former president spoke at his rally.

The FBI hosted a press conference call with reporters more than two weeks after 20-year-old Crooks fired at Trump with a DPMS AR-15-style firearm with a collapsable stock during the rally in an assassination attempt that nicked the president's ear but left one man dead and two others hospitalized with gunshot wounds.
Leaders on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee are making a sweeping request for records as part of the panel’s investigation into the assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump.

The Trump campaign announced the Butler rally on July 3, and three days later, Crooks signed up for the event. That same day — July 6 — he researched how far Lee Henry Oswald was from the late President John F. Kennedy when Oswald assassinated the former president in 1963. On July 7, he traveled to the rally site and spent approximately 20 minutes in the area, Rojak said.

Trump took the podium around 6 p.m. — an hour after he was scheduled to speak. Eleven minutes later, Crooks fired multiple rounds, killing 50-year-old Corey Comperatore and seriously wounding 57-year-old David Dutch and 74-year-old James Copenhaver. Dutch was hospitalized and has since been released, while Copenhaver remains hospitalized.

FBI officials are still working to determine Crooks' motive behind the assassination attempt that rocked Butler and neighboring townships. They are also still working to determine whether Crooks planned with any coconspirators, though the agency clarified on Monday that there are no signs to indicate there were others involved.

Sens. Gary Peters (D-Mich.) and Rand Paul (R-Ky.) — the committee chair and ranking member, respectively — and Sens. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) and Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), who lead a key subcommittee, sent letters on Thursday to the Secret Service, FBI, Department of Homeland Security Office of Intelligence and Analysis, Beaver County District Attorney, Butler County District Attorney, Butler County Sheriff, Butler Township Police Department and Pennsylvania State Police.

20 year old civilian shooter knew exactly what roof was open and unguarded. How?

Pathetic excuses. That roof should have been secured. Period.

Lies and obfuscation. This level of of incompetance is complicity in a plot.

The people on the ground looking upward could see and video the shooter. So I can’t believe that someone who is equal to him could not see him climbing across the nearly flat roof.

They’re going to stick to their story and the media will line right up behind them without question.

It's almost sounding like some in the Secret Service wanted these lapses in coverage to occur.

Why wasn't Trump even briefly secured when there was even a question of a possible threat about?

Yet all the people on the ground were easy to spot him and point him out to law enforcement and nothing was done.

Seems like a lot of orchestrated negligence and purposeful disregard, The former head of the Secret Service should be investigated for orchestrating this.

Snipers can hit a golf ball from that distance, the secret service has one of the best scopes that money can buy, wtf are those excuses...

Still searching for the slope. There are several images where the individual is seen on the roof. Not to mention rally supporters informing detail of seeing the shooter on the roof.

Supposedly highly trained SS and law enforcement couldn't identify a threat and yet civilians on the ground were filming and screaming for someone to do something.

One of the lamest excuses I've ever heard. 🤣🤣🤣

Why the secret service allow Trump enter the stage? That the people are screaming that somebody on the rooftop with a gun?

Even a conspiracy theorist could easily conclude that the roof was DELIBERATELY not secured.
Why would there not be a fully verified S.S., F.B.I., State or Local Police officer actually standing on the roof, in full sight of the snipers, so as to secure the roof against being used as a firing position.
None of the Agengies can or simply won't answer that question because it may well be self incriminatory.
As for the "communication gaps" a road construction crew have U.H.F. hand held two way radios. 80 channels usually. The 1/2 watt units cost around $30 each & have a range of up to 1km +. And we are being told that communications have to be relayed through a "State or Local" agency centre. Bull 💩.
