Secret Service director to testify before Congress on Trump rally shooting

Federal authorities are still investigating the events that led up to the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump. The Secret Service is facing significant criticism for its failure to prevent the tragedy, with its director heading to Capitol Hill on Monday for questioning. CBS News senior coordinating producer for crime and public safety Anna Schecter has more.

Secret Service ( S.S.) agent in command allowed the President to go on stage when he knew there was an active threat present.During Ford Carter campaign, both came thru Suburban N.Y.Counties.I was in my second stint in the Army, Counter Intelligence.We supported the S.S. with their advance group.Were on stand by during both candidates campaign stops.We were instructed that if a threat was detected, the protected were not allowed out to any stage and were to be evacuated, FAST !This is the policy and operational orders. Everything was under the command of the agent in charge. The agent on charge in Pa. ALLOWED trump to go out onto that stage during an active threat situation This was a government hit.
