The closest supergiant star explosion. Is Betelgeuse going supernova?

Показать описание
A supergiant star is about to go supernova and when it does, it will be as bright as moon. Betelgeuse, one of the brightest star in the night sky, sits in constellation Orion about 650 light-years away. Betelgeuse is a red giant which has burned up all its hydrogen fuel in its core, waiting to explode. The brightness has increased oddly 140% it’s usual since 2019.

Some experts believe it can go supernova anytime soon and when it does, it would be the nearest supernova ever observed and so bright that it would be visible in daylight.

Since it’s so far away odds are it’s already died
