My Favorite Fish Died…

In today's video, one of my favorite pet fish mysteriously DIED... Our newest phantom redtail catfish worth thousands of dollars died over night, and we have no idea how. We also found a dead koi in one of our ponds while we were feeding and updating you on all of our fish. In this video we also moved our new arowanas into the koi pond so they can grow much quicker and become the giants they deserve to be! RIP sweetcheeks :(

might have been stress from the move or even an internal problem. its common for many wild fish [ and a lot of tank bred ones] to have harmful parasites. installing a few quarantine ponds would really help with the safety of your pets and prevent illnesses

The BFP home recently suffered huge pet losses🥲 First Shelly passing away from liver cancer and now Sweet Cheeks and the little koi🥲 We wish all our pets can live forever, but someday we will be reunited in heaven.❤️

I’m so sorry for your loss. Don’t blame yourself. We don’t. Despite everything you do right, sometimes animals just die. It happens. I know it doesn’t make things easier. You’re a good fish dad and love your fish and it’s obvious.

If you added those red tubes recently and she was in them for a while I can only think of one thing
The PH was slightly changed from either the orange on those hides either the paint or rust; not sure if you said what it was made out of but if its cinder block, metal rust or paint it can change the PH
If thats what her hang out spot was then that slight change in PH could have did it, maybe in the future put the hides in a test batch of water and see if the PH changes

Perhaps check water parameters just to make sure. Both habitats looked to have cloudier water than normal to me.

Wild cought, she may have had a parasite problem you didn't notice. I know she's a pet, but opening her to check for internal parasites may save the rest of your tank.

It looks like its frozen but was it raining before she or he died? I think the temperature of the rain was cold so it could've killed her or him

Reminds me of my 2 yr old goldfish. We moved to a newer tank and Sam did great, then a cousin caught a wild smelt and she died about 3 days later. Maybe a quarantine period before adding new fish to existing ponds with established fish could help prevent to strange unexpected deaths in your prized pets.
