Rheinmetall increasingly looks like one of Ukraine's most important partners ramping up theit defence capabilities.
The Oerlikon Mk3 is one of Rheinmetall's latest innovations and I'm glad to see it helping to protect Ukrainians. But don't forget the new Rheinmetall tank repair facilities in Ukraine and the planned local production of the brand new Panther tank. The latter is a next-gen system, which integrates into connected warfare, decades ahead of Russian systems and certainly another blow for Putin and his aggression. Slava Ukraine!

The video has false Info : This is not a Swiss weapon - It is a German weapon. The developer is Rheinmetall a German company that owns Oerlikon plus the right to their name and it is not produced in Switzerland. Switzerland still doesn't allow any ammo, weapons, vehicles etc. that were build in Switzerland to be delivered to Ukraine or any other active warzone because of their 'neutrality' The Revolver Turret is part of the Rheinmetall SkyneX Airdefense system presented at the Black Sea Defense & Aerospace 2024.

Rheinmetall - owner of former Oerlikon group weapons divisions since 1999 - has set up production of Skynex guns in Italy, in a former Oerlikon Italy subsidiary. To avoid Swiss government export restrictions, not only for Ukraine.
Too bad some of the other Oerlikon gun systems that were produced in very large numbers in Switzerland for many other countres are not sent to Ukraine.
A few Skynex systems will not be sufficent at all.

Oerlikon/Rhinemetal has been around for more years than I've been on earth (75+) and have a battle proven track record. I expect nothing less from this new addition to their stable.

Oerlikon 20mm guns/cannons were used extensively during WWII by the US Navy for anti aircraft weapons aboard ships and were very dependable and effective as a close in weapon against aircraft.

I hope they're just as well at dealing with the enemy in Ukraine, especially with the development of specific application ammunition.
I imagine that these programmable rounds would prove devastating when used against troops in the open as well as in trenches with the airburst mode. Ukraine just needs to saturate their country with these game changers when used in specific situations. A GP/dual purpose type weapons system.

Another important element in the defence system of Ukraine - in the end Russia will have lost most of it´s military a economic capacity and will hopefully fall apart, nobody on this planet needs such a big country with so many different nationalities.

The problem with Marders provided to Ukraine (according to Ukrainian troops) is that Marder has underpowered engine and can't shoot while moving due to unstabilized cannon. The biggest problem is there are no spare parts and troops have to find ways to fix these Marders on their own which is quite difficult.
